The platform “Cameroonian Women for Peaceful Elections and Peace Education” coordinated by WILPF Cameroon, monitored the regional council elections of 6 December 2020. This monitoring enabled the collection and processing of data and information relating to incidents before, during and during the elections in general and relating to violence against women in particular. The aim was to take stock of the electoral situation in Cameroon.
The “Women’s Watch and Alert Room and Peace Education” is an early warning mechanism, which offers the opportunity for women to play a decisive role in the promotion of peace in general, and in the conduct of peaceful elections in particular.
