Every three years, the International Women’s League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) Congress brings together members from all over the world to set policy and direction for our organisation, build relationships, discuss policy issues, and share knowledge and best practices through workshops, networking events and discussion spaces.
The International Congress is the highest decision-making body of WILPF. It is responsible for approving WILPF’s international programme, admitting new sections, voting for the new International Council and deciding on amendments to the WILPF Constitution and By-Laws. The Congress is also an opportunity for WILPF members to engage with each other across geographical boundaries.
This is the first ever WILPF online conference and will be hosted by WILPF Australia under the theme Making Connections: Environment, Social Justice and Demilitarisation for Feminist Peace.
Originally scheduled to be held in 2021 in Brisbane, Australia, it was postponed due to the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, some 12 months later, the Australian WILPF Chapter is delighted to host this event virtually through Canapi app.
WILPF Cameroon delegates are delighted to take part in this congress virtually.
