Training workshop for young web influencers for peace
A prosperous economy? Productive industries? And quality health and education services? nothing will be possible without PEACE.
On February 1, 2024, in Yaoundé, WILPF Cameroon and Cameroon for a World Beyond War organized a training workshop for “Young Influencers for Peace”. 25 young influencers and 5 IDPs acquired knowledge and skills concerning:
- Raising awareness of the importance of social cohesion and the consequences of hate speech on Cameroonian society.
- The tools and knowledge needed to identify and counter online hate speech.
- Promoting messages of tolerance, inclusion and respect on their platforms.
- Building alliances to combat hate speech.
WILPF Cameroon and its partners can move forward on this road to peace thanks to funding from the United Nations Democracy Fund.
Let’s reflect on the profound link between Youth and Peace on this National Youth Day.
Youth empowerment activism breaks the cycle of poverty, dismantles barriers and fosters a culture of respect. Let’s make every young person an ambassador for peace, tolerance and solidarity.
