Resilience: Visit to refugee farms in Mandjou, Bertoua
In the heart of Mandjou, in Bertoua, lies a haven of resilience: the farms tended by remarkable refugees. As part of our 10th anniversary activities, our recent visit bears witness to their determination and unity, as they cultivate hope in the midst of displacement.
Travelling through fertile fields, WILPF Cameroon, with the support of Peace Women and GENSACwitnessed the refugees’ dedication to farming and welcoming the community. Their spirit of collaboration transforms these lands into a symbol of solidarity and shared prosperity.
This experience reminded us of the importance of empowering refugees beyond aid, towards self-sufficiency. As we left, we took with us stories of strength and triumph, as well as a renewed commitment to supporting their journey to a better future.
