Workshop on community approaches to mental health and psychosocial support

On the road to non-violent transformation of violent conflicts and threats, WILPF Cameroon recently successfully concluded a three-day training workshop organized by Cameroon’s CPS_GIZ program, in Douala.

The workshop focused on the key concepts of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) at the community level and practical mechanisms for integrating these approaches into the various phases of project implementation, with particular reference to youth involvement and gender considerations.

Throughout the course, we gained valuable skills in community-based MHPSS ( Mental Health and Psychosocial Support) techniques and strategies, enabling us to support mental health and psychosocial well-being, thus contributing to stronger, more resilient communities.

As well as being a capacity-building session for the team, the training was an ideal venue for staff empowerment, fostering a supportive environment for all.
