3rd EDITION OF WOMEN'S WEEK OF APPEAL FOR PEACE
Exchanges with the people of Ndom
After the morning walk, Mrs. Nathalie Foko, President of WILPF Cameroonsang the hymn of peace: “la paix, c’est moi, la paix c’est toi, la paix c’est nous….” (peace is me, peace is you, peace is us), which was taken up by over 300 people in attendance. Activities then continued in the afternoon with a meeting devoted to exchanges with the women of Ndom. This meeting, co-organized by WILPF Cameroon and the MINPROFF district delegation in Ndom, was chaired by the local Sub-Prefect, Mr. Benjamin Bwanga, surrounded by the Mayor and other administrative authorities of the town.

Discussions focused on the need to cultivate peace and, above all, the importance of involving women in peace processes through the pillars of Resolution 1325, namely participation, prevention, protection and relief and recovery. On this occasion, WILPF Cameroon presented its actions relating to the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda in Cameroon.
After the exchanges, the minute of peace took place, with white handkerchiefs symbolizing peace. Next, a major focus was placed on training to empower women: menthol and soap making. It was a busy time for the sub-prefect, who asked the women to get together to make a greater impact in their income-generating activities. The mayor, His Majesty René Batoum, sounded a similar note, promising financial support for the women’s group.
65 women benefited from this training and expressed their satisfaction and thanks to WILPF Cameroon and MINPROFF.
