16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE
A series of activities in Dschang
This Thursday, December 5, 2024, as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), WILPF Cameroon’s Dschang headquarters hosted a series of landmark activities. The main aim was to raise awareness of GBV, its consequences, and the dynamics of gender relations through the prism of traditional cultural patterns.

Highlight of the day: An enriching educational talk brought together 30 young people, offering a space for interactive and constructive exchange. Together, they deconstructed preconceived ideas about gender, fostering critical and inclusive thinking.
Institutional participation: Two ministerial delegations, MINPROFF and MINAS, honored the event with their presence. Their commitment reinforced the impact of this initiative, underlining the importance of the collective fight against inequality and violence.
A commitment for the future: At the end of the discussions, the 30 participants made a strong commitment: to become community relays. Armed with practical tools and a better understanding of the issues, they are committed to raising awareness in their communities, contributing to lasting change and promoting harmonious living together.
These activities illustrate once again that awareness-raising and education are powerful weapons for building a fairer, more egalitarian society.
Thank you to all the participants and partners who made this day so memorable. Together, let’s make the fight against GBV a priority!
