16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

Exchange, education and awareness-raising session on gender-based violence and its impact on mental health

WILPF Cameroon organized on Monday November 25, 2024 in Yaoundé an exchange session with GBV victims, mostly women and girls, on the various forms of violence they have suffered and the impact on their mental health. The twenty or so participants who responded to the invitation shared their experiences and identified strategies for overcoming them while minimizing the impact on their lives.
The Technical Advisor Mental Health and Phsyco-social support of the GIZ Civil Peace Service and the African Organizer World BEYOND War contributed to this conversation. It was supported by the GENDER EQUALITY NETWORK FOR SMALL ARMS CONTROL (GENSAC), whose mission is to promote gender mainstreaming in arms control, more specifically by ensuring effective participation and representation in all arms control processes.
