Conçu comme un guide pratique, ce document permet aux femmes politiques et aspirantes candidates de mieux comprendre et structurer leur engagement, depuis la préparation de la candidature jusqu’à l’exercice d’un mandat électif.

 Il accompagne notamment les participantes à :

  – maîtriser le cadre légal des élections municipales

  – analyser leur profil et leur positionnement politique

  – construire une stratégie de campagne cohérente

  – se préparer à la gestion d’un mandat municipal

 

 L’outil présente, de manière chronologique, les étapes clés du processus électoral municipal, de l’inscription sur les listes électorales à l’installation du conseil municipal, en passant par le dépôt et la validation des candidatures, la campagne électorale et le scrutin.

 

 Son objectif est de favoriser une gouvernance locale inclusive et renforcer la participation effective des femmes dans les instances de décision locale.

 

 Cet outil a été élaboré grâce au financement de la coopération germano-camerounaise, à travers le Programme d’Appui à la Décentralisation et à la Gouvernance Financière (PADGOF) / GIZ, avec la collaboration de la Fondation Friedrich Ebert et de WILPF Cameroon.

 As part of the Women Standing Up for 2026 project, a strategic training tool has been developed to support and strengthen women’s political leadership in Cameroon, in preparation for the municipal elections.

 

 Designed as a practical guide, this document helps female politicians and aspiring candidates better understand and structure their engagement, from preparing their candidacy to serving in elected office.

 

 It specifically helps participants to:

  – master the legal framework of municipal elections

  – analyze their profile and political positioning

  – develop a coherent campaign strategy

  – prepare for managing a municipal mandate

 

 The tool presents, chronologically, the key stages of the municipal electoral process, from voter registration to the installation of the municipal council, including the submission and validation of candidacies, the election campaign, and the vote itself.

 

 Its objective is to promote inclusive local governance and strengthen the effective participation of women in local decision-making bodies.

 

 This tool was developed with funding from German-Cameroonian cooperation, through the Support Program for Decentralization and Financial Governance (PADGOF) / GIZ, in collaboration with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and WILPF Cameroon.
