FEMMES DEBOUT POUR 2026
Renforcer la voix et la participation politique des femmes aux élections municipales au Cameroun
This project aims to strengthen the political participation of women and young women in the lead-up to the 2026 municipal elections in Cameroon.
* Partners
The project is implemented with the support of GIZ (PADGOF), the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development, the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family, the Platform of Cameroonian Women for Peaceful Elections, as well as traditional and religious authorities.
* Duration
The project will be implemented over six months, from December 2025 to May 2026, in the Littoral and North regions. It targets 150 women (local elected officials, members of political parties, and civil society organizations) and aims to raise awareness among approximately 2,000 people within their communities.
* Objective
To increase the participation of women and young women in the 2026 municipal elections by strengthening their political leadership, advocacy skills, and visibility in local decision-making spaces, in order to promote inclusive, peaceful governance that is more responsive to local realities.
* Expected Results
– 2,000 people made aware of the importance of women’s political participation
– Dissemination of the Women and Youth Manifesto for Social Cohesion and Increased Representation
– Organization of 6 training workshops to strengthen the political and electoral capacities of 150 women
– Support for 150 women in developing their electoral campaign plans that incorporate the values of inclusive and peaceful governance.
Women Standing Up for 2026 is a collective commitment to more inclusive, equitable, and representative local governance.
