JOURNEE INTERNATIONALE DES DROITS DE LA FEMME
Echanges sur la thématique du 8 Mars 2026
On Friday, March 6, 2026, WILPF Cameroon was invited to lead a panel discussion on the theme of International Women’s Day (March 8).
The association of former residents of the Ngoa Ekelle neighborhood wanted to revisit their roots in the neighborhood where they grew up to raise awareness among its residents, particularly women and young people, about this year’s theme: Rights. Justice. Action. For all women and girls.
During the two-hour discussion, Secretary General Armelle Ndongo, assisted by Marcelle Kabeyene, addressed the approximately forty participants on the symbolism of International Women’s Day and the chosen theme.
The discussions reminded participants that behind the concept of rights lie responsibilities, and that it is by finding the right balance between all these concepts that healthy and equitable relationships can be developed.
At the end of this exchange, the participants expressed their deep gratitude and their wish to see such initiatives renewed beyond March 8th for a progressive social transformation.
